The goal of this training is to provide the tools for leaders to successfully utilize ongoing LEAN programs and activities to develop and implement sustainable business strategies that improve both environmental performance and overall competitiveness. This class will teach participants how to eliminate wastes associated with energy, materials and water utilization from industrial processes using LEAN techniques. Various principles and methods for improving your company's green performance will be explained, including: energy efficiency, carbon management, waste minimization, pollution prevention, greening the supply chain, environmental cost accounting, systems engineering, water use efficiency, recycling and by-product synergy.

Industrial Energy Management for Decision-Makers

Industrial Energy Management for Decision-Makers This half-day workshop provides an introduction to high level strategies for energy efficiency and conservation opportunities that are associated with Energy Management Training at U of I BISindustrial operations. It is geared toward personnel that can think strategically about energy conservation as an investment activity and as a means for mitigating risk associated with possible future regulation of CO2 emissions. Join industry experts and other manufacturing leaders to discuss green opportunities for growing your company, and being on the leading edge of the Sustainability movement. In a discussion that highlights the activities of leading companies, participants will learn how energy management can reduce operating costs, increase productivity, and increase competitiveness. The workshop will cover energy investments that yield cost savings; quick analytical techniques to identify opportunities; overview of energy management programs; overview of possible regulatory scenarios in the future; and overview of available resources. Participants are invited to submit 12 to 24 months of energy utility data in advance, for analysis during the workshop.

The goal of this training is to develop the comprehensive skills required to make your organization more sustainable with respect to energy materials and water usage. Topics include: energy management, carbon reduction, waste minimization, pollution prevention, and water use efficiency. Additionally, participants will learn about greening the supply chain, environmental cost accounting, alternative energy utilization, life cycle analysis, systems engineering, recycling and by-product synergy.
